2010 Annual Dinner raises £6,440 with more pledged

We raised £6,640 at our 2010 dinner last night and lots of people took away standing order forms, as they did not have bank details with them, and said they would send them back.

The break down of the funds we raised is as follows:

Donations including Gift Aid = £5212 (thank you to those of you who keenly got all the Gift Aid forms signed which means that we claim on all this money) Standing Orders last night = value of £1228 per year with more promised to follow.

The cards were a huge success and a huge thanks to Jim and Irena for this brilliant idea and for producing these beautiful things. The breakdown of what we sold from these is as follows:

Free Medicine = £120
School for 1 Year = £100 = a contribution for the 20 most poor children to attend the school
Training Days for teachers = £120
Sports Kit = £35
Uniforms = £20
School Bag, Pens and Pencils = £20
Bricks and Mortar = £95

SUB TOTAL = £510

TOTAL INCLUDING GIFT AID = £652.80

These were such a success that we are going to discuss this at our strategy meeting today with a view to extending the list of items, asking Jim and Irena to produce lots more cards and have them available all the time plus organise for these to be sold as presents for people via the website.
