Foundation wins Community Group of the Year

Nicola Lowe receives award at Fusion Awards 2011

The Abaseen Foundation UK has won the Community Group of the Year award at the Fusion Awards 2011 held tonight. This year’s event was sold out two weeks in advance and saw over 350 guest pack into the Premier Suite, at Ewood Park, Blackburn to recognise people from across the community. The annual event aims to reward the north wests volunteers, charity champions, business and sports heroes.

There were five finalists in the Community Group of the Year category:

  • Cancer Awareness Trainers Group (Blackburn)
  • Abaseen Foundation (Lancaster & North West)
  • Shree Swaminarayan Mandir (Bolton)
  • Positive Start (Rossendale)
  • Brierfield Action in the Community (Pendle).

A representative from Twin Valley Homes, who sponsored the category, announced the winner. The other categories were Entrepreneur of the year, Man of the year, Woman of the year, Achievement in Sport Award, Public Service Award, Community Cohesion award, Youth Leadership Award, Education Achievement Award. We are delighted that our work in Pakistan and the UK has been recoginised and we thank all our supporters for all they have done.
